Stadium of Fire!

Stadium of Fire!  Such a classic 4th of July activity… and so much fun!  Jason’s Dad invited us to come along with them for the night, and since Jason knew that the Jonas Brothers would be preforming, we were in!  Just kidding! (but he was excited for Glenn Beck.)  Since we knew pretty much the whole world was going to be at BYU stadium for the night, we decided to ride the scooter to the show, instead of taking the car.  It was such a good idea, and so much fun. Riding the scooter meant we could weave in and out of traffic, park super close (and for free), and on the way home have the perfect temperature for a night time ride. It was perfect.

What else was perfect was the performances by Shedasiy and the Jonas Brothers.  Jason’s little sitter was in love.  She knew all the songs and we had fun pretending like we did too.  Nothing like screaming at the top of your lung with the rest of the stadium.  Sad that is the only concert I have been to all summer, and I’m not even sure it can be classified as a concert.  After all the screaming came what we were all waiting for the…. FIREWORKS!  The Stadium of Fire did not disappoint.  The firework show was awesome.  We sat really close to the top of the stadium so when the fireworks exploded they were so close!  It was so much fun.  Thanks to Jason’s dad for inviting us!

Happy 4th of July!Waiting for the show to start.

Happy!

They burned this Flag that night since it was so worn out… that part was kind of strange.

Lightin’ Up the Sky!

Ballons, the hot kind!

Every year around the 4th of July, Provo city has 3 days set aside where they fill up and fly hot air balloons.  The fly them really early in the morning just before the sun comes up so  the air is still chilly.  All the years I have lived in Utah, I’ve never gone to the balloon show.  This year Jason suggested we go and I am so glad he did.  We had so much fun!  We watched as the balloon-men rolled got everything set up and then filled the balloons with fire.  Once they were all filled up we got to watch them all take off.  There must have been 20 or more balloons in the air that day… it was an awesome sight.  I seriously loved it and could not stop smiling.  Now I really want to go for a ride in one of those little baskets!  Up, up, and away!

Provo Ballons! So early but so worth it.

Fire!This was awesome!

I love it!Seriously, I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.  I loved it.

Awesome!Watching the ballons as the sun peaked its way through the moutains.

(watching all the balloons fly in the sky reminded me of the movie “Up”… i really loved that movie.)

Flag Day!

Everyone knows that I love holiday’s and especially flag day!  I just love America, the flag colors, and all the history the flag represents.  I just love it!

The day started off with the Orem Firefighter’s 5k, the parade in the early evening, and the fireworks show that night.  Jason’s grandma lives really, really close to center street so we were able to hangout at her house before the parade and then after until the firework show started.  Her house was great.  She made the best caramel popcorn ever, and we were happy to help eat it!  The parade was a little slow… and kinda boring but we still had fun.  Our friends the Baird’s sat by us and they have a set of twins who loved it!  The rain come right at the very end, which ended the fun a bit early but the weather cleared up just in time for the fireworks.  It was a fun night.  Happy Flag Day!

I love America!
