Carving Out Memories!

…So last Saturday I called Jason around 9:00am to say hello and welcome him to his day.  Typically on Saturday mornings Jason will call me when he wakes up (because of the two hour time difference) but last week I just couldn’t wait to talk to him.

Just minutes into our phone call the doorbell rang at his house.  Who could it be?  Since he wasn’t expecting anyone, Jason decided to disregard the doorbell and we kept talking.  A few seconds later, the doorbell rang again.  Jason was like… what the heck?!  Who is ringing the doorbell?  He was still in bed so as you can imagine getting up and answering the door was not at the top of his list.  Again, seconds later the doorbell rang for the third time.

Of course life would have the doorbell ring just moments after I say “Jas, I seriously can’t go one more minute this morning without talking to you, I can’t even go one more second without seeing you.”

I was being so cute on the phone but the doorbell ringing was making him distracted so he wasn’t saying anything cute back.  All he could say was “who is at my door?”  I finally said “I don’t know, but maybe you should go answer it and find out.”  He replied back “ok, good idea.”

Guess who was behind lucky door #1…SURPRISE, it’s me!  🙂

I flew into town to surprise Jason for the weekend, no reason in particular, I just missed him.  We had a great time together.  Saturday we spent the day up at the Gateway Mall, had lunch at Pei Wei, played catch at the park, and picked out pumpkins.

Sunday night we invited Jason’s mom, brother Tyson and sister in-law Aimee over to have a pumpkin carving party, we had such a fun time.  Below are some fun pictures from our “spooktacular” night!

Spooky!

Marathon Weekend!

No joke, this last weekend was a Marathon in more ways then one!  I arrived back to New York last Thursday after traveling for 5 days, was home for less than 24 hours, then boarded a train from NY to Washington, DC to go see KA run a half marathon on Saturday and spend the weekend hanging out in DC.  After leaving super late on Friday night I finally arrived at Union Station at 1:00am!  I was so happy to see that KA was ready and waiting to pick me up upon my arrival.  We then drove to her house in Virgina where we then spent the next couple hours giggling and catching-up before climbing into bed around 3:00am.  Going to bed at 3:00am when KA had to run a half marathon in the morning… not the best idea we’ve ever had!

Raise and shine!  At 7:00am the alarm started to sound for KA, MJ, and I to get out of bed and jump in the car in order to start our trek to Baltimore, Maryland!  Yeah, heaven forbid the race be in the same state in which KA actually lives!  Can I just say that I was less then thrilled to be climbing out of bed after only 4 hours of sleep on a Saturday morning!   However, all of that changed once we arrived in Maryland and KA and MJ were at the starting line!  The smell of new sneakers, the vibe of “race energy”, and the taste of Gatorade was enough to bring us all back to life!

Run like the wind!  Let me tell you that is exactly what these girls did!  KA crossed the finish line with a big smile on her face knowing that with this race she broke all her other half marathon race times!  Go KA!  MJ also did awesome!  Funny story for my Utah friends: Jason Sanders now lives in New York and was also in Maryland for the race.  He ran the full marathon and did a great job!  Its funny who you run into, guess it really is a “small world after all!”

Below are some fun pictures from the race day:

Meeting up with KA just after crossing the finish line!  Don’t worry about my outfit or lack of make-up, we left the house way to early to worry about stuff like that!

New “Brown” in Town!

It’s done!  I went from blond to brown!  Can you believe it?

I was in Utah visiting last weekend when the “big transformation” happened.  Not only did I go brown, but I also got bangs, which was such a big deal.  For those who are wondering, no I am not having a mid-life crisis, I know it seems like whenever girls do anything dramatic to their hair its because they are in the middle of a melt-down, however I am happy to report that this is not the case here.

I have been considering going dark and getting bangs for a few months now (thanks to the encouragement from a little bird aka: Jason) and I finally pulled the trigger! For those who haven’t seen me yet, check out the picture below, its kind of been a shock for a few people to see me go from blond to brown so I wanted to post a picture so you would all be able to recognize me next time I am in town.

Some have absolutley loved the brown with bangs, others prefer the blond with no bangs, so what do you think?  Cast your votes below to help me decide what color I should be from now until spring!
